HPC Advanced Research Center
HPC Advanced Research Center of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University was established in 2018 under the Department of General and applied mathematics (by decision of the meeting of the Scientific Council held on January 31, 2018). During the past two years, the Center was developed in accordance with international standards and has been included to the list of high performance computing centers as Kerrighed (http://www.kerrighed.org/php/clusterview.php?id=88) and OpenHPC (https://github.com/openhpc/ohpc/wiki/System-Registry). The main advantage of the center is that it is a multi-partitioned cluster computing system and provides CPU / GPU support. At the same time, Grid technology support enables the Center to increase computing power without increasing resources. The Center currently has 6 PFLOPS computing power and a total of 640 GB of memory.
One of the main objectives of the HPC Center at ASOIU is to solve high-performance computing issues and implement Big Data processing in the Republic of Azerbaijan. In addition, training of specialists in the field of high-performance computing systems is carried out. Students trained and employed at ASOIU HPC Center will be able to successfully work in future for HPC industrial centers in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Structure
The Center is currently publishing a journal on HPC systems - Azerbaijan Journal of High Performance Computing (https://azjhpc.org). Articles are identified in the Crossref database, and the journal's activity in 2018 are included to the Index Copernicus database.
